Kolb's got an MRI scheduled for later today or tomorrow (I don't remember) to make sure that his knee sprain isn't anything worse. At this point its diagnosed as a sprain and isn't anything to worry about.

God im getting sick of players being hurt in training camp. I blame Andy Reid.

I blame Andy Reid.

really the coach is to blame if a player twists his knee wrong?

i love how everyone blames the coaching for injuries that happen almost all the time

I was waiting for somebody to ask this question. Heres where im coming from on this........

Andy Reid runs some of the most grueling and notorously physical training camps of anybody in the league. This is no secret, the guy loves live contact practices and he gets them started early and often in training camp. Much hype gets made of this fact every single year when training camp rolls around and the going theory is that its a good thing to break these players down hard during training camp so that you can build them back up entering into the season.

What seems to go unnoticed by most though is that Andy's training camps are also renown for players getting injured. This year we've already lost 2 key players for the season with ACL injuries (Stewart Bradley and rookie TE Cornelius Ingram), on top of that you've got Desean Jackson hyperextending his knee, Kevin Kolb spraining his knee, Victor Abiamiri straining a pectoral muscle, Trent Cole spraining his shoulder, and Shawn Andrews injuring his back. Those are just the injuries that are costing players time, not to mention the stuff that people are playing through right now and its only training camp!

This is the same exact story in Eagles training camp every year. Last year Kevin Curtis' sports hernia and Reggie Browns hamstring injury both ocurred in training camp and cost both players to miss a ton of regular season time. I'm not expecting a completely injury free camp but Reids camps season in and season out seem to be more injury riddled than anybody elses in the league and this has been going on for 10 straight years now. Is that supposed to be a coincidence?

I think there may be something to the idea that Reids notoriously rough camps filled with a ton of live contact are a major contributing factor to all of the injuries that this team repeatedly sustains prior to the start of the regular season.

I'm sure the contact doesn't help, but what if these guys are just proned to injury? How many of these players were affected prior to this season? (I'm curious, not making a statement)

These same guys? For the most part none. The injury issue is starting to attach itself to Victor Abiamiri a little bit but he's really the only one.

Interesting... but just so you know the Chargers are going through the similar small nagging injuries, granted no one is lost for the season yet, I think hamstring tweaks, pulled muscles etc are just apart of camp and after the proper rest everything should be okay...

but if it happens as much as you say, this might be the first case where I do say the coach might be the problem for pre-season injuries... it just feels weird saying that
