Saints still deciding on power running back (http://www.neworleans.com/sports/saints/184866-saints-still-deciding-on-power-running-back.html)

Two of the choices are Mike Bell (who was a rookie sensation for the Broncos a couple years back) and P.J. Hill, the former Badger bruiser from Wisconsin.

Jesus, if they're looking at these guys they might as well just re-sign Deuce Mcallister and roll him out there in one of those rascal scooters.

They're merely looking for a short-yardage back. The Saints lacked the ability to pick up first downs on 3rd and 2's and 3 & 1's last year because they didn't have a back who can push the pile. Bell or Hill aren't going to get more than 50-60 carries tops with Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush still taking carries.

Short yardage situations one of these guys might fit the bill. Anything more than those 50-60 carries, and you're in trouble.

Anything more than 50-60 carries and that means Bush or Thomas missed significant playing time to injury.

LOL! "merely" Thats classic!

I'll talk to YOU when the season is over.

Just because a guy has a small job title doesn't mean that he doesn't need to be good at it. As a matter of fact, i'd argue that if all you're going to do is that one little task you'd better be superb at it because the other guys already know what you're going to do. I've watched Philly struggle in short yardage for the past 5 years since Duce Staley left the team because they were "merely" looking for a short yardage back.

Payton has already made it a trademark of his by using decoys on countless plays and still being succesful offensively. Yes, New Orleans needs a back who is better suited in short-yardage situations but they're not going to be stupid and run the same guy on the same play every 3rd and 2 that they get. Pierre Thomas has shown that he can handle the job of being the primary back with Bush complimenting him and having a third guy to fill certain roles and come in on certain situation, I think, could be greatly beneficial to this team.

And good for Philadelphia. Whatever they did/tried to do, that's great. You can talk to me throughout the season, end of the season...whatever. I just ask that when you do you stop trying to come off like you're Jim Rome or something.

They should bring Brock Forsey back to the NFL
