IRVING, Texas (AP)—Nebraska is favored to win its division. The Cornhuskers can score points in bunches and no Big 12 team enters the season with a longer winning streak.

Nebraska? What is up with these coaches today? They lose their QB and four of their top five WRs and they are expected to win the North?

What about Kansas? They get back their QB, their leading rusher and top four WRs. I think they should be the favorites over Nebraska.

I think it comes down to the defense more than anything. Ndamukong Suh is a standout tackle in the middle of that line, and it's a solid team, even without the skill players coming back.

You still have to score points to win a game RD. I don't see them being that successful vs Kansas this year.

Couple points here:

-Kansas is their 10th game of the year in mid-November.
-Nebraska returns two running backs who had over 400 yards last year, both sophomores in Roy Helu Jr and Quentin Castille (Castille being the 6'1 245 pound beast of a tailback).
-They also return the entire left side of their offensive line and the starting center from last year's team.

They might not be able to score with them now, but 10 weeks into the season with plenty of practice under their belts and a quarterback who will by then have some live bullets experience, they may be able to keep up enough for their defense to keep them in the game.
