Go ahead and make as many jokes as you want about college football’s perennial brides- maids and their BCS bowl flameouts. As long as the Sooners keep winning 11 or 12 per year, they’ll happily endure your barbs. OU flirted with the title again last year after a season-long assault on statistical logic and more scoring than those old Point-a-Minute outfits.

After trying to overwhelm everybody in ’08 with their offense, the Sooners may try to win by leaning on the other side of the ball this time. Sam Bradford and his golden Heisman arm return, but the line has only one starter back, and the OU receiving corps took a couple hits, so the Sooners may not be able to pile ’em high like they did last year. Heck, there may be a few Saturdays when they’ll barely be able to muster 50 points. Then again, if Bradford completes 70 percent or so of his passes again, and Chris Brown and DeMarco Murray each hit four figures on the ground, maybe the Sooners can score 60 or more five straight weeks, like they did last year.

the texas-ou game is clearly the biggest regular season game of the year in regards to the title race but I still think Texas holds a decent advantage.
