I think Cal will be good, but I still think UO is better.
OK, Kevin Riley. It’s all in place. What do you have for us? The Bears return plenty of offensive firepower, have eight starters back from a pretty good defense and a favorable schedule. Now it’s up to the junior quarterback who completed a meager 50.7 percent of his throws last year.
Maybe it’s not fair to put it all on Riley, but if the Bears are to get back to challenging USC for conference primacy, they need some reliable quarterbacking for a change. Nate Longshore was alright these past few years, but he never grabbed the job by the throat. At times last year, it appeared coach Jeff Tedford was flipping a coin to see which quarterback went onto the field. Well, it’s all Riley now, unless of course, Brock Mansion steps up and plays as well as his name sounds.
