ANN ARBOR, Mich.—Former Michigan quarterback Steve Threet recently announced his decision to transfer to Arizona State.

Michigan Daily: Why Arizona State?

Transferring quarterback Steve Threet: The first thing I looked at for any school I was going to go to was the offense they run and the coaching staff. Arizona State, I feel it fits me offensively with the type of offense they run, it’s a pro-style offense. I get along very well with the coaching staff, I feel like they will be able to help me get better every day in practice and throughout the season and help me develop.

Interesting interview from the inside. He was pretty classy to make excuses for the coach, but the coach had no excuse for what he said. I have no respect for coaches who throw players under the bus. If the QB was that bad, why was he starting? That's all on the coaches.

I didn't see what McGee said until now and I'm pissed.

That kid put his heart and soul on the line for McGee. He really was one of the players who truly loved the program to come through and he deserved better. He showed emotion all the time and I think that was a rather unfair cheap shot at Threet.

Whoever is getting on him about his play, that is fine. He didn't play well and he knows that. But anyone can see he didn't play well because the offense that was being run didn't suit him. And even with that I would say he didn't do too bad of a job at it.

However bashing him for "being scared of competition" or whatever it was the interviewing was alluding to. That's uncalled for.

threet considered osu, but we are stacked at QB. I think he could do well at ASU, I liked him at Michigan, better then the other guy

"The Other Guy" (haha I like that), was a walk on... He sucked.. Threet was actually a scholarship caliber football player. He'll do well with Arizona State. As long as they can display the skill set he has.

well every time I looked up "the other guy" was playing...then he'd f it up and threet would have to come in and make the game respectable.

Yeah it's sad.. Because he was supposed to be "more athletic" which was the only reason he kept getting a shot. Threet was slow but he still ran the offense better than The Other Guy AND he even broke off a few long runs.

Too bad he won't see the field for ASU...ever.

ya I think he has just a good a shot play as any other down there. I mean they have that 6'8 freshman QB but its not as if they have the next jake plummer in line or something and there won't be too many 3-4 year starters like Rudy come around often. If Threet performs well he'll play.

My money is on Stangel or Szakacsy as they have more time working in this system. Besides I want to hear announcers tripping over trying to pronounce Szakacsy's name. :D
