I like DHB, I liked him better than Maclin, but who in their right minds think that he's better than Crabtree.

Oh yeah, Al Davis.

Wow. Over Crabtree, Maclin, and Harvin.

You guys can like Bey over Maclin all you want.

It's Grade A Stupidity to NOT TRADE DOWN AND GET BEY.

It just is dumb management and not sensible to draft someone who could go in the 20's with the 7th pick.

You got to throw Orakbo in the mix for big fall of the night though.

Oakland hasn't managed a team well in years what makes you think they would start now? Is this really any worse then the last 4 years?

The next three first round picks for Oakland in the next three drafts will most likely be QB, RB and WR I'm calling it now

Depends how far he goes. If he gets taken in the 13 - 15 range I'd have to say no. Crabtree was a top 3 player on the board likely to fall out of the top ten know.

Agreed. Very few predicted Orakpo to go in the top 5, he really just started to drop.

No I think Everette Brown takes them all as the big faller.

I always thought he was over rated but teams seemed to like him so I gave him credit. As a FSU fan it does kind of make me sad to see him fall thou.

I like him, but I generally agree, was too overrated to begin with.

As for Heyward-Bey, anyone surprised? It's the Raiders for cryin' out loud.

What's great is that Yahoo's mock (from Pro Footbal Weekly I believe) actually called this pick correctly. Take that ESPN!

I am, I know they(Al Davis) love speed, but you have to be out of your mind to not at least trade down first. Heyward-Bey will forever be connected to Crabtree and for his sake better have a better career. This just smells like Troy Williamson all over again.

apparently it wasn't just Davis.

"When you look at the history of the great receivers who have been Oakland Raiders, it's always been about that vertical speed, being able to stretch the field, take that top off the defense," Raiders coach Tom Cable said. "This certainly does that for us."

Question what great burners for the Raiders is he talking about was Biletnikoff crazy fast? Tim Brown wasn't, someone would have to tell me about Todd Christensen. Those are the top WRs that I can find in Raiders history who is Cable speaking of?

He later went on to say that Heyward-Bey was the best Route Runner in this draft I guess if the go or fly route is the only route you care about he's right.

I like Heyward-Bey. With Jamarcus Russell's strength being his strong arm, it makes sense to get a vertical threat. I think this could actually work out well for Oakland, but like everyone said, they should have traded down and got an extra pick or 2 to get Heyward-Bey.

I think most of us like Heyward-Bey. But not more than Crabtree, and not enough to pick #7 overall.

it's how Al rolls, he likes his first round pick to be a really flashy athlete. he likes those hight 40 times with large verts.

I totally fear for Tebow if Oakland gets a top 5 pick next year.

seriously I didn't see MHB getting drafted in the 1st, he (just like everyone who wasn't Crabtree) was far too raw of a prospect to really merit being taken early in the 1st.
