Sources: Giants expected to land Edwards - NFL - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Aqi4oTXqb6bpRKmGCtu_0X05nYcB?slug=jc-giantspursueedwards041409&prov=yhoo&type=lgns)

I'm going to wait until the final deal's announced to pass judgment, but if it's just a second, fifth, and Hixon, count me a bit miffed. Better be a first, fifth, and Hixon.

And I'm a guy who likes Domenik Hixon...

i agree RD. a 2nd 5th and Hixon doesn't seem like quite enough for Edwards.

Especially from a team that has two seconds (the Giants). Realistically, it has to be at least the 45, Hixon, and maybe a fourth to get it done for me, not just the picks they got for Shockey last season.

Make it the 29th...we're talking.

This would be huge for the Giants.

Wouldn't be bad for the Browns either I don't think. Hixon's young and developing, could be a very solid number two. Gives us a bit more flexibility with the fifth pick, makes a guy like Crabtree or Maclin probably a bit more viable there, and finally, adding another top 50 pick's good for a team that needs them.

Now if we could just get something out of Anderson...

yes, RD, i don't disagree with looking at trading edwards but like you say, it's got to be for the right price and the right price is some good draft picks with hixon to help fill some gaps in the roster and the talent level.

I'm going to miss Braylon.

I dont think this deal works unless a 1st-rounder is included. The Browns will want to get one just as Dallas did with Roy Williams, and that will figure in their decision-making. If not, they better get another 1st-day pick along with the 2nd, plus a receiver.

The Browns need a first rounder for him.. If they can get it they'd be in a very good position. I think this works out for both Braylon and the Giants though as well. Braylon needs a fresh start and the big media pot that is New York actually suits his personality. He'll be a star there.

Is Edwards really worth a first rounder though, let along a first rounder AND Hixon? I mean, he had one very good season, and several medicore. And it's not like his only good season was the most recent. So I think you guys are wishing for too much

I like Hixon a lot, and a 2nd rounder on top of that for Edwards seems like a good deal for the Browns, and a risky one (albeit with great upside) for the Giants.

He may not be worth it, but if the Lions can get a first and like two more picks for Roy Williams, the Browns should be able to get at least just a late first for Braylon Edwards..

Just because the Cowboys paid three picks for RW doesn't mean the Giants will. It all depends on how quickly they think that window of opportunity for another SB is closing. I just find it interesting that not long ago we were talking about Aaron Curry to Cleveland and now it might be Michael Crabtree provided he is available.

I have even read where they like Mark Sanchez.
