Just when you thought the free agent visits were done, the Bengals pursuit of former Cowboys continues. First, Roy Williams and now Tank Johnson.
First reported by the Dallas Morning News, the team confirmed that it had hosted the free-agent defensive tackle this week.

It's like they list guys in character from highest to lowest, then start at the bottom of the list and go up.

Totally. Isn't it funny how Tank ends up in Dallas and then Cinci? Such irony there, such irony.

Bottom line is Tank Johnson can clog up any teams running game. I see the same negative comments here about Johnson that I did about Cedric Benson last year when the Bengals brought him in.
I'd say the Bengals understand this is a 'must' year, for the team, for Marvin Lewis, and for Mikey Brown.
We'll see.

Well Tank shows up some games, some plays, and doesn't on others.
There were games where we Dallas fans were like "Alright, there's the Tank Johnson we thought we were getting" and then you wouldn't see him making a play at all the next few games.
He's a solid DT, but nothing spectacular, like most of us thought when Dallas signed him.

Tank hasn't been near the player he was when he was in Chicago.

Tank won back all his credibility with me when he was the only NFL player down here still searching Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith days after the Coast Guard stopped. I mean that might not mean anything to other people but I think it really shows a good quality in Tank. Knowing all the money these guys have and only one of these NFL Players friends were down here searching. The Coast Guard only has so much money they can work with, these men were lost in a huge Area and I just think if more people would of been out there maybe more than one could of been found.

That all of a sudden makes him a misunderstood guy?

no... it just shows you can't judge a book by its cover....
but if i were cinci i wouldn't have bothered bringing in another character issue for a workout, way too much bad pr would come from signing him

No, but you can usually judge a person by their actions, and Tank's point to him being a thug.

A bit of 'thug' on our D line would be a nice change.

How about his possession of several unlicensed guns (including 2 assault rifles) with children in his home?
Or his best friend and body guard getting murdered by a gang member?

I don't think he has been in jail long enough for that. ;)

That doesn't matter. Mike Brown is The Redeemer. Give us your drunks, your druggies, and your firearms violations. :D

The laws he was cited under have been wiped out by the Supreme Court, FYI.
