We on staff here at PSH often boast we have the smartest members of any football site. We have always assumed it to just be a fact, sort of like water being wet...Well I decided for a change I would put a given up against the rigors or reality and see who our members would draft. Now I know someone out there did not participate in this and is saying, hey, thats not my mock I didn't vote....well tough tukus, because failure to participate will be interpreted as total agreement with what went down ;)
So now that I have you all on the hook, lets see who the members said would get drafted where. I am including the voting percentage so you can see how strongly the members felt about each pick, and the landslide votes will be labelled as PSH LOCK's.....so enough from me lets see what the members have to say.

The thinking here is clearly the Raiders need a QB, as you can see the members started out strong with the first pick giving a 63% conviction to the QB from LSU but its not as clear cut as the numbers would indicate lets hear from a member on the thinking:
BPA?...Calvin Johnson, Biggest Need?...JaMarcus Russell. I concur that CJ should be the pick but Russell will be the pick. At the same time, Al Davis really likes speed so look for Yamon Figurs to possibly be the surprise pick.

16.6% Levi Brown OT
12.5% Amobi Okoye DT
Well the members of PSH seem sure, but aren't bold enough to convince me here, it looks like the pick will be for the line, offensive or defensive, well like I said they haven't convinced me, here is what they said about the selection:
I'm going with Gaines Adams, but I could easily see it being Okoye or Branch. I think they'll attack the defensive line, obviously, because the value of the offensive linemen isn't quite there and otherwise they're pretty set on offense.
Also, this wouldn't be too early to start looking at a LB like Patrick Willis, who had a very good career AND blew the lid off of his workouts. I don't think he'll go here, but he can certainly start getting looks ~YoHoChecko

20% Amobe Okoye DT
Well the pick will be for the D-line, but who? It is anyones guess at this point. Lets see why they gave Jamaal the slight edge:
So Washington had 19 sacks last year. Isn't that one more as a team than Shawne Merriman had as an individual? Jamaal Anderson will help with that; the DTs not so much. ~myshkinfh

82.3% LaRon Landry S (LOCK)
Back to back locks, what is going on here, do the members know something I don't lets see what they are saying, I bet its something like Atlanta are some lucky mo-fo's for having Landry fall in their laps:
Landry is the choice. He is what they hoped they were getting in Crocker last year, a tough young safety who has coverage skills. They can play him next to a great mentor in Lawyer Milloy and watch as his feel for the game catches up with his freakish athleticism. I will hate having to play this guy twice a season. ~JungleKing

The members came darn close to a turkey on the lock, but just couldn't convince me they felt that strongly here, sure Levi has a big lead, but the amount of votes elsewhere made me think it could go a few different ways, so sorry kiddo's no lock for you...lets see what the thinking is:
Miami is well set with their current defense but needs a lot of help on the other side of the line. Levi Brown is the best player available for their need. ~CURTROWE

22.7% Patrick Willis LB
13.6% Amobi Okoye DT
Well the members want defense. 50% is not enough to sell me on their selection though, lets see what the members reasoning is:
I went with Alan Branch. Even though people see him falling because of his Pro Day Workouts, and all of that, Dude is still a Monster up Front. Just what the Texans need to compliment Mario Williams. ~bigbucsfan80

16% Amobi Okoye DT
16% Patrick Willis LB
16% Dwayne Bowe WR
This was a shocker to me, I didn't expect Carriker to go this high, lets see why the members disagreed with me:
Only really 3 options here IMO, Carriker(would be a perfect fit as a 3-4 DE, a spot we need badly, though the draft is very deep here), Willis(we need a stud ILB and hed fit the bill perfectly, though if we dont upgrade the front 3 our LB's will struggle), and Meachem( in my eyes the 2nd best WR option this year after the freak Calvin Johnson and as its well known we need a WR bad...)luckily all 3 positions are pretty deep sooo....im taking Carriker ~sf86

68.4% Marshawn Lynch RB
26.3% Patrick Willis LB
5.3% Leon Hall DB
Well almost 3 to 1 in favor of the Cali-back. Has anyone asked what A-Thom thinks of sharing the load with a rookie, if I recall he didn't like that gig in Chicago, but this is the members pick so lets see what they are thinking:
Willis McGahee and Nate Clements...2 big loses this off-season for the Bills and many viable candidates available when they pick in Lynch, Hall, and Houston. Then you ask who is worth the 12th pick overall and as far as I'm concerned the DB's are a little lower leaving Lynch, who would be my choice. ~Angel Crusher

14.2% Amobe Okoye DT
14.2% Leon Hall DB
Our members convinced me of one thing. The Rams don't give a hooty-scoot about losing Kevin Curtis, they just want more defense, lets see what they are saying:
Personally, I have a strange feeling the Rams might take Ginn, but I have nothing on which to base it, so I'm not upset.
That said, they need LB more than CB, and they also need DT, so Okoye could certainly go here, but I think LBs make a more immediate impact and thus are more worthy of the pick here. ~ YoHoChecko

13.6% Dwayne Bowe WR
Are the members going soft on me here, can't we get some conviction behind this selections? Come on people lets make a statement here. Until then lets see why the members think a safety is the best option for the Panthers:
I went with Nelson here. I considered Timmons and Olsen but thought it was too early for both. Nelson is a big guy that can make an immediate impact. ~CURTROWE
#15 http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/PITR.gif (http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=3258&c=19)Pittsburgh
58.8% Jarvis Moss DE
29.4% Amobe Okoye DT
5.8% Lawrence Timmons/Aaron Ross DB
I think I see the problem, Okoye needs a publicist. The members seem very secure in this pick, I just don't understand how they can pass on Okoye...maybe reading this will help clear it all up:
The Steelers really don't need a DT at this point...at all. They've got one of the best DT's in the NFL in Casey Hampton, and Chris Hoke, who filled in very nicely in '04 when Hampton went down with an injury for a good portion of the season. Sure, Okoye might be a nice luxury for the Steelers, but after an 8-8 season, they need to be going after their needs.
And one of those needs is a rush end. Moss can play a 4-3 DE, or a 3-4 OLB, which works out perfectly for the Steelers, who may be making that switch in the near future. While I do feel that Haggans and Harrison will do just fine stepping up to fill the void that Porter left, there is very, very little in depth in Pittsburgh, and Moss may be able to eventually replace one of the two aforementioned backers. ~BigBenCan7

47.6% Michael Griffin S
28.6 Dwayne Bowe WR
9.5% Leon Hall DB
I was not so surprised by Griffin being selected, however not even pumping a LB'er in the top 3 did surprise me. After all Peterson is coming off a season ending injury and over the past couple of years his flanks have been stripped in free agency one would think Del Rio should begin to infuse some new talent back there but eh:
Deon Grant is gone and Donovan Darius is no spring chicken therefore Michael Griffin would be my choice seeing as he can play both but would be an immediate help at free safety. ~Angel Crusher

Our first of two position locks. The Bengals apparently will draft a DB with their first rounder, but who? Lets here the chatter behind these selections:
With Tory James gone and O'Neal on shaky ground, Hall would be my choice to come in and make an immediate impact ~Angel Crusher

Another position lock, choose what flavor you want, because the members all want Ice Cream.
with so many great receivers left on the board at this point, the Titans are salivating.........they get to choose the one they like best........ ~jjflr
I just think Bowe is the best receiver available, and at this point, maybe the best player. ~myshkingfh

50% Joe Staley OT
21.4% Chris Houston DB
14.3% Lawrence Timmons LB
This selection kind of shows you where the Giants are, they need help, and just about anywhere will do for members of PSH lets see why:
It's time for Eli Manning to step his game up, in order to do so he needs some time to get rid of the football. Staley has been flying up the boards lately, some are even considering him as an options for the Texans (considering Brown is off the board) or the Steelers. ~billevee23

They want CJ but without some serious wrangling that won't happen. So the members think they will settle for their 2nd choice.
All right, we don't want any of these guys, but I chose Ginn Jr. because he'll finally give us someone on special teams who can do something (please God, anything!) ~myshkingfh

With the top safeties already plucked from the draft, I would have thought Mr. Merriweather would go here, then I remembered who their coach was this year....he does not utilize the safety for anything but a last ditch stopper..so going Wide out makes sense to me.
With 2 WRs over 30, it's time for Dallas to bring in a future target for Romo. Dallas seems to have strong interest in Meachem, so he is the pick for them. ~Champ

They need some wide outs and O-linemen and with good quality at both postions on the board it kept this one from being a lock.
I voted or Jarrett because the Chiefs need a legit #1 receiver to lead their passing game. I don't care that he was slow in his 40...I watched him torch the "best cb in the draft" during the Rose Bowl. The kid is a player and will be a player in the NFL. ~lawdog93

I went with Revis because CB is our biggest hole right now. It took me a while to decide between him and Olsen, but in the end the coaching staff likes Chris Baker and they like Revis. Anthony Spencer looked like he had some cement hips in the combine, I definitely do not want that guy trying to cover anything. ~ bleedgreen

Reid doesnt take 1st round LB'ers historically but our members just don't care they say take this LB and shut up and eat this Tastee Cake.
I have been saying for MONTHS that LB is our biggest weakness....I have been saying timmons or pulz but with the signing of Spikes, THAT talk has died down a bit....I think Phil will say merriweather, and I wouldnt be upset with that, I just believe that the LB spot is still our weakest part of the team, I would still like us to pick timmons at this point. ~Azazel

Curious these two were the ONLY guys to recieve votes, in 2-1 fashion the members think the potential loss/decline of Ogden weakens an overall weak line.
Are you guys serious? The Ravens need O-line help in the worst way. RT, G, C are all needs. They have a pass rush. They lost Adalius Thomas, yes, but they have a guy in-house they're looking at, and Spencer wouldn't be a good replacement anyway, as he can't do much in terms of coverage and moving in space. ~YoHoChecko

We have starters at DB, so this is a bit of surprise but at 32 you take BPA and move on, if a good DT is here look for them to take him here first.
Ross is the best player available that meets a need. Justin Harrell could get consideration at DT, but Ross is definitely higher on most boards than Harrell. The Colts might be losing two CBs this offseason so the position has become a need at least equal to that of DT and LB.

~JungleKing

66.7% Levi Brown OT
12.5% Amobi Okoye DT
12.5% Alan Branch DT
The members came darn close to a turkey on the lock, but just couldn't convince me they felt that strongly here, sure Levi has a big lead, but the amount of votes elsewhere made me think it could go a few different ways, so sorry kiddo's no lock for you...lets see what the thinking is:
Miami is well set with their current defense but needs a lot of help on the other side of the line. Levi Brown is the best player available for their need. ~CURTROWE

50% Alan Branch DT
22.7% Patrick Willis LB
13.6% Amobi Okoye DT
Well the members want defense. 50% is not enough to sell me on their selection though, lets see what the members reasoning is:
I went with Alan Branch. Even though people see him falling because of his Pro Day Workouts, and all of that, Dude is still a Monster up Front. Just what the Texans need to compliment Mario Williams. ~bigbucsfan80

40% Adam Carriker DE

31.8% Greg Olsen TE
13.6% Dwayne Bowe WR
Are the members going soft on me here, can't we get some conviction behind this selections? Come on people lets make a statement here. Until then lets see why the members think a safety is the best option for the Panthers:
I went with Nelson here. I considered Timmons and Olsen but thought it was too early for both. Nelson is a big guy that can make an immediate impact. ~CURTROWE

~BigBenCan7

Its a lock! The members love the top 10 Okoye falling into the laps of the Packers, I think there was some Packer-backing sabotage going on here, lets see what the members say:
I am going to vote for Okoye until someone takes him. He is too good to fall this far. He fills a need for the Packers and will have many, MANY successful years in the NFL. ~lawdog93

~Champ

44% Justin Blalock OG

They need some wide outs and O-linemen and with good quality at both postions on the board it kept this one from being a lock.
I voted or Jarrett because the Chiefs need a legit #1 receiver to lead their passing game. I don't care that he was slow in his 40...I watched him torch the "best cb in the draft" during the Rose Bowl. The kid is a player and will be a player in the NFL. ~lawdog93

They need DB's. but really they can't go wrong going defense here.

~Azazel

33.3% Anthony Spencer DE
Curious these two were the ONLY guys to recieve votes, in 2-1 fashion the members think the potential loss/decline of Ogden weakens an overall weak line.
Are you guys serious? The Ravens need O-line help in the worst way. RT, G, C are all needs. They have a pass rush. They lost Adalius Thomas, yes, but they have a guy in-house they're looking at, and Spencer wouldn't be a good replacement anyway, as he can't do much in terms of coverage and moving in space. ~YoHoChecko

WRs are actually okay in Berrian and Muhammad and the O-Line help they need they can get in the second round or later. Greg "Fast Pants" Olsen won't be, so get the workout warrior. ~myshkingfh
