Free Agent Frenzy
Psh's own Yoho (Max) and Crunked (Rob) have teamed up to play GM just for you. http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/shark_5.gifWe will take a look at the most exciting free agent signings and try to predict where they will land, something no self respecting fan of the game would dare do without risking their credibility but as everyone knows Max and Rob aren't risking much.
Now we compiled a list of players here, excluding RFA's . We also took the liberty of removing players that teams have stated they will do everything to keep such as Dwight Freeney. That leaves all the other UFA's. Well we took those guys and eliminated guys that probably won't impact their new suitor, now that doesnt mean we didn't "miss" someone, but this is our list of who we think will make the most impact. http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/Shark_mouth.gifLike many of you are thinking, and quite correctly, with the glut of money some teams will be able to keep their UFA's making for a slim pool for us fans to salivate over, but we will approach the remaining guys as if it is NFL business as usual. We have also taken the liberty to throw in a handful of names that are getting passed around as trade bait, since it is likely they will move at some point if teams are sticking them out there...enjoy the review and let us know who you think will go where we want to hear it.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60).Nate Clements, Buffalo........................................... ..(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: I could see Nate going to San Francisco, they have some cap room and are well on their way to building a playoff contender, they actually have room to sign two big names from Free Agency, I see them going after Nate and another big guy which you will see further down the article, but the other guy may get franchised by his own squad so I put Nate as the Niners number one want.
Yoho: Clements goes to the highest bidder, and there will be some awfully high bids. It's going to come down to three teams (two of which with over $30 million in cap space), but I think the 49ers and Saints lose out to the Titans on this one.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Bobby Engram, Seattle........................................... ..(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: An older reliable reciever who could prove handy as a third reciever or spot duty in a four wide set. This type of signing has Philadelphia written all over it, and Bobby will thrive in the hands of Mr. McNabb.
Yoho: So let's see, what team could use a sure-handed, hard-working mentor-type WR with knowledge of the west coast offense? What team likes taking players from Seattle? This is almost too easy, if only anyone would think about it: The Vikings get a bargain upgrade.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Ken Hamlin, Seattle........................................... ......(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Sure to be the niners second choice if not signed by Seattle Ken is coming into the free agent market as the dark horse. There is so much attention and speculation being bantied about Samuels and Clements that Hamlin is kind of flying under the radar, a few teams not to miss him are The Texans, The Jets and the Cards. Out of the three top suitors, and yes martha there are more, but out of the top suitors I like the Jets chances at landing the fictional bird, go ahead and get all the pun you want out of this sentence.
Yoho: Did I mention a team liking to take players from Seattle? Oh, I did. Does that team need a safety, too? It does? How convenient for the Vikings.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Adrian Peterson, Chicago.........................................(U FA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: This would be "the other" one, he is a serviceable back that could be useful in a two back set up ala, everyone in the leagues aim this year. Look for teams with big cash to pass him by as they can get a better guy in their estimation for their new found wealth, Herm wants to cut Larry's load down in KC, and since they will struggle to pass with no Wide outs and 37 year old QB, that is probably a good idea. Look for Adrian to suit up in Arrowhead as the Kansas City running game gets plural.
Yoho: In the prediction that gets made every year, but never comes true (but I'm too stubborn to stop picking it), the Eagles add a power back in free agency.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Michael Lewis, Philadelphia...................................... .(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: I would wager a million dollars (if I had it that Mike Doss ends up here to replace Lewis) but that is not what we are talking about, we are talking about where Lewis will go, so lets see....who needs a safety. You are going to think I flipped my lid, and maybe I have, but could you imagine Michael lining up in Tennessee? Thats right I can see Mr. Lewis as a Titan working with the Pac-man can't you?
Yoho: In part of their campaign to upgrade the secondary, the 49ers work out a deal for Lewis while failing to get the CB they so coveted. Don't worry, help is on the way.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Nick Harper, Indianapolis...................................... ...(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Tricky Nick is lot like the modern day Walt Harris in a lot of ways, I believe Walt is still making the rounds in the NFL. Nicky wanted big bucks and an extension in training camp this year, the Colts responded by ignoring his demands, Nick shut up and played. Now that the Colts have won the SB, someone will surely overpay Nick. He is good but not a great CB, and will serve someone well for a year or two. I look for him to join the ranks of the Arizona Cardinals, where he will join former Colts, Betrand Berry, Troy Walters, and Edgerrin James while replacing former Colt David Macklin at DB.
Yoho: Well this didn't take long at all. Having missed out on the first wave of spending trying to woo Clements, the 49ers settle for a band-aid veteran to buy them some time while younger talent (to be added later) develops.
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Cato June, Indianapolis...................................... .....(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: This is one of those guys you would normally ear mark for Washington, but they only have a few mil in cap room, not that that would stop them, but I think they have finally started to realize that you can't buy a championship....maybe so who does that leave in the running? Well Minnesota, Tampa, and Carolina come to mind, I could see Cato in Carolina given those three choices.
Yoho: A speedy, under-sized LB has to find the right type of home. Hopefully, no teams with a mis-matched system will shell out the big bucks, but a possible answer could be the LB-hungry Rams, who made over the position but are still in need. If Witherspoon is big enough to be their MLB, June is big enough to play the weak side.
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Dominic Rhodes, Indianapolis..................................(UFA )
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: I really think someone will overpay both Rhodes and June, but on the slim chance that doesnt happen the Colts would re-sign him to a modest deal. Okay having said that who wants a two back running tandem? There are about five teams that come to mind but one sticks out, one who has a power running recieving back but could use a speed change of pace guy, its down south a tiny bit closer to his Texas home, and where I think he will end up, tag teaming in St. Louis.
Yoho: Call me a rumor monger, but I read one that I'm buying into, and that's Dominic Rhodes finding a home as a complementary back-up to Rudi Johnson with the Bengals
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Jeff Garcia, Philadelphia...................................... .....(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: So many choices so little cap room, someone will be goofy enough to give him a shot at starting, what a waste of perfectly good cap, yeah I am not a Garcia believer I think the Eagles made him, not the other way around. I can see Herm Edwards freeing up some cap room for Garcia in Kansas City letting Huard go, and somehow Herm will think of it all as an upgrade.
Yoho: Out of left field, I'm bringing you the upset signing of the new millennium. The Raiders use master recruiter Kiffin and former OC Knapp to lure Garcia into the Black Hole to solve their QB problems. O-line help also helps seal the deal.
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Damon Huard, Kansas City.......................................(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Freeing up a roster spot and cap space look for Jack Del Rio to come to the aide of Huard giving him the opportunity to compete with Garrard for the starting spot in Jacksonville, yup thats right ,Leftwich will be traded or released you can bank on that.
Yoho: Huard is one of the best "just-in-case" signings available on the market. He'll want to compete as a starter, but won't likely be given it outright. So we need a team that has young question marks at QB and a little cash to spend. It's going to start with a B... rowns or ucs. I say Browns
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Byron Leftwich, Jacksonville.............................(trade bait)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Byron, Byron, Byron, how is the weather in Jacksonville? A little to warm, or maybe hot under the collar down there? Well here is where Mangini builds for the future, he trades for Byron, letting Byron scuffle it out for a starting spot....I bet you didn't see the Jets angle coming did you?
Yoho: I strongly believe that the Vikings are going to stay true to their word and not make a move for another QB. Leftwich is a long-term answer, anyway, and so he's not the guy to babysit Tarvarious. That said, most of the teams with QB troubles have found the solution, but their is a team with an ineffective starter, a free agent departure at back-up, and an unknown commodity of a 3rd round pick waiting in the wings. The Chiefs add Leftwich to start instead of Croyle.
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Jake Plummer, Denver.....................................(trade bait)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Jake is basically homeless in Denver, I am sure Shanny would love to keep him for insurance just in case Cutler implodes or goes down, but Jakey will never be happy doing that. In what I will peg as a top 10 move for the off season, top 10 mistake that is look for Jakey to go to Childress in Minnesota.
Yoho: I hate to go all obvious, here, but the connections are just too strong. Jake Plummer will be a Houston Texan. Not much more needs to be said, here.
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Donnie Edwards, San Diego......................................(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Ladies and gentlemen, please say hello to the next Junior Seau in New England. Thats right, Push Donnie to the outside, Vrabel back to the inside, let Tully Banta-Cain walk and draft a LB to groom as Bruschi's eventual replacement. You heard it here. Its a scary thought for a non Pat fan, but a possibility.
Yoho: From the manual labelled "how to improve your team without getting any younger, and thus maintaining what seems to be a permanent need," the Patriots get help in the middle from a guy who still plays younger than he is.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) London Fletcher-Baker, Buffalo................................(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Congrats are in order, I didn't realize he got married. (Assuming that is why the name change) Where does a veteran guy like Fletch go to finish out his career? Well the teams that need him most have the least to offer him, he could be a one to two year purchase for San Francisco to bring some veteran leadership to their young squad. I see London finishing his career in Arizona.
Yoho: London's career is on its last legs, so he'll go to a team that needs a patch. With question marks about Dan Morgan's career, the Panthers can sign Fletcher-Baker now as insurance, allowing themselves to wait until later in the draft to find a developmental replacement, rather than an immediate one.
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Adalius Thomas, Baltimore......................................(UF A)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: This guy will run the ink out of a GM's pen with the deal he will land, this is that other big 49ers signing I alluded to earlier, if Baltimore does not keep him look for the niners to twist an ankle trying to get to him so fast.
Yoho: Big money Thomas will either go to the Patriots or 49ers. Both could badly use him. One has a former coach, and one a coach that he respects and liked at the Pro Bowl. The question must be asked: if they are willing to pay up, who doesn't want to play for the Patriots? (Chargers excluded)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Kris Dielman, San Diego...........................................(U FA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Here is a guy that could do a lot of teams some good. I admit I don't follow the Chargers close enough to know why they are letting him walk but I bet you he lands in the lone star state as a Houston Texans offensive lineman.
Yoho: There are a lot of teams that could use line help, but if there's one thing I've noticed about the AFC West, the players seem to really like playing for division rivals. Remember that line help that made Jeff Garcia choose the Raiders? Here it is.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Eric Steinbach, Cincinnati........................................ (UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Another Texans hopeful here but I think he will go to a club that has a little more money, and a little more at stake that could benefit from an O-line upgrade, and who better than a coordinator who saw him play twice a year, thats right this is the tri-fecta for the Arizona Cardinals, you guys can go ahead and start talking about them as one of the teams that had a great off season.
Yoho: The interior line cream of the crop, here. The poor Bengals don't get to keep him because it's against the rules, but adding insult to injury he stays in-state for the team that will not be denied O-line help: The Browns

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Leonard Davis, Arizona........................................... (UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Leonard Davis didn't pan out in Arizona, and is one big reason why the Cards will try to land Steinbach, the truth is he really didnt stand much of a chance out there, thats why I could see him ending up in Miami to help shore up their line and develop into a good lineman.
Yoho: What does it say when you cut your starting left tackle in early February? It says you're targeting a LT in free agency or the draft. This is likely the Giants' best chance for help at the position.
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Daniel Graham, New England...................................(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Danny is a keeper, and the Pats are negotiating with him now, but the talks have stalled so lets pretend they break off and he has to go elsewhere. Chicago, Minnesota and Cincy all have a need for a good TE, but none of those squads have a lot of money, they do however have a lot of free agents to sign, therefore I think that eliminates them as Graham will command a good salary, not a bank breaker but a good salary none the less. Taking all that in, that really only leaves one place that would look seriously at him. New Orleans, that new coach down there has everything the Colts have except a good field stretching TE, and if they bite on Graham they will have that too.
Yoho: TE actually looks as if it's going to be a high-movement position this offseason. Graham would like to return, but drafting two TEs last year basically put the writing on the wall. He's going to want to land in a spot that makes better use of his receiving skills, so why not a team that throws 600 times a year and has a former TE and O-line coach as the OC? The Packers.
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Charles Grant, New Orleans.....................................(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Its hard to imagine the Saints letting Grant slip but they just might do it, and where would he end up? I am sure Chuckie Gruden would love to rebuild with him, but the Bucs still have Simeon Rice and his bank buster deal to work around. There are a lot of teams in need of his services but one that could really benefit from Mr Grant is Marv Levy and those Buffalo Bills.
Yoho: Grant's star has fallen over the past couple years as his sack total has dropped off. However, he's a 290-pound run-stuffing DE that still flashes some rush ability. Ya know, that description sounds like it might even fit into a 3-4. And so he gives it a try... with the Jets

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Ashley Lelie, Atlanta........................................... ....(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Ok, let me see, wasn't happy in Denver, check, wasn't happy in Atlanta, check could end up anywhere you say? Look out city of brotherly love, they take another chance believe it or not, ok I am just kidding. I could see Ashlie ending up in a Titans uniform replacing the departing Drew Bennett.
Yoho: Lelie hasn't been well-used in Atlanta, and is still hoping to find a return to his Denver mediocrity. How can he get a more prominent role in the offense while also sticking it to the team in Denver that caused his disgruntlement? The same way all former Broncos get back at the team: play for the Raiders. (Did I mention Kiffin's a good recruiter?)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Donte’ Stallworth, Philadelphia.................................(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: One of the harder guys to peg a final resting place for, after all his track record of brilliance framed by injury means a team will be getting questionable goods for the money. If its the healthy Donte' then they got a bargain if its the injured one, then it was a waste of money. I could see his next stop being Green Bay for a modest wage as a situational guy complimenting Donald Driver.
Yoho: I have to steal an idea from a wise man here on this site, and pick the least-discussed but most logical landing spot for Stallworth. He can play for a winner right away and provide a much needed deep threat and complement to Vincent Jackson with the Chargers
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Jerramy Stevens, Seattle........................................(UF A)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: This another Free agent that will be scrutinized heavily by the likes of Chicago and others, but I really think the team that could most benefit from a consistent TE, would be the Panthers, and Jerramy is one that could be a proven commodity at the position that can be obtained for a reasonable salary by todays NFL standards.
Yoho: Stevens is in a strange situation in which being franchised would likely be his best possible outcome. If he hits the market, he may not get the deal he deserves due to his higher-profile drops. The Broncos have a potential future at the position in Tony Scheffler, but they'll shell out the cash to upgrade in a TE-friendly offense with a young QB.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Drew Bennett, Tennessee.......................................(U FA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: I think he wants to go west back to his roots, and there are certainly teams on the west coast in need of his services, I would peg San Diego as the front runner, but if they don't resolve their coach issues soon it won't matter a great deal as a coach may be getting the welcoming handshake and here is your token Drew Bennett all in one get to know you session. San Diego is the most likely home for Drew.
Yoho: Drew Bennett is one of the biggest teases on the market. He's got a great size-speed ratio and one break-out season a couple years back to give potential suitors hope for his future. He's less desirable than Stallworth or Curtis, but he's good enough for the Dolphins.
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Kevin Curtis, St. Louis............................................. (UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Hunted and salivated over I could see Green Bay, Kansas City, and Philadelphia all making strong cases for Kevin's services. Then of course there is the dark horse favorite, Detroit. The Millenites are always looking for a Wide out, they must have a roster of 50 of 'em by now. That is where the big dogs are predicting Kevin goes, but I have a feeling he is smarter than that, look for Philadelphia to be his most appealing destination.
Yoho: He's an underrated prospect who might manage to get overpaid, due to his relationship with Mike Martz, the Lions' tendency to overpay and their $16 million in cap space. He's a Lion.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Randy Moss, Oakland.......................................(tra de bait)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: The revelation of the Free Agent Frenzy by Crunked belongs to this once great wide reciever. He needs an opportunity to ressurect his career, he needs a quarterback who understands that and can get him the ball, and if you tell me the NFL is not a copycat league I will call you a liar that is why I think someones ill concieved brain child will be to reunite him with Duante Culpepper in Miami, its a disaster in the making I can guarantee you , but it will sell tickets and after the Saban betrayal the Dolphin fans need something to look forward to seeing so why not?
Yoho: This one's pretty easy. No one in the league, including his own team, seems to want him. No one, that is, except Brett Favre and maybe vaguely Ted Thompson. So Randy freezes his moon off in Green Bay with the Packers.
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Jerry Porter, Oakland.......................................(tra de bait)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Let it roll off your tongue for a minute, let it sink in, chew on it, stew on it, think it over...now what do you think of when I say Brett Farve to Jerry Porter? Doesn't work for you? Nah me neither, I can see him going to of all places, The Texans. This will be the biggest off season trade that has happened in a long, long time.
Yoho: Porter always seems to be whining about something, but he's never been a REAL problem. so a team that lost its top WR in free agency might take a flier. A team with plenty of cap room. A team with a lot of young talent. A team like the Tennessee Titans.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Eric Johnson, San Francisco....................................(UFA)
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Who needs a blocking TE with some decent recieviing skills? Well I can tell you who, this coach is starting the season out on the hot seat and he needs to make some moves to show ownership he is moving forward with this team, they have been on the cusp long enough, with an aging Kyle Brady Mr. Johnson will be calling Jacksonville home, as he book ends Mr. Lewis.
Yoho: There are two teams left that I believe really could use a TE. The Bengals and the Vikings battle for this one, and oddly enough, the large white man in a helmet beats up a tiger. Strange, yes, but the Vikings has their west coast TE, now.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDe6.gif (http://pigskinheaven.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=2027&c=60) Todd Sauerbrun, New England.................................(UFA)

Crunked: Talk about a crap shoot, where the heck would a punter go? Man you might as well throw a dart at a board because I can guarantee that not one club will worry about this need even if they have it until the very end of all things.....that is if they are smart, so going off of that possibility and the fact that not one team is confessing punter as a key off season need I will take a guess I have a 1/32nd chance of being right after all so lets say....Atlanta
Yoho: Call me insensitive, but I really don't care about this one. Strangely enough, Sauerbrun made a huge impact on the Patriots this year, and I recognize that, but I still don't care. It just occurred to me, though, that the Redskins have a terrible punter and haven't spent any free agency money yet.

Crunked: Long admired and oft coveted Roderick, goes to the enemy camp, no, not that enemy....no not that one either....I willl wait.......go ahead you are getting warmer....warmer,........oh screw it he will be going to the Packers to help shore up a leaky secondary.
Yoho: Hood will get a pretty good deal in the early free agency rush. He would have been a good back-up for Clements had the 49ers gotten the chance, but by the time the dust settled, the Bills had already made them Clements' replacement.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Goes to Shanny to fill the unexpected void left with the loss of Darrent Williams. Not only is Williams spot vacant but depth at the position was already a concern going into this year before the tragedy. Kenny will be coming into a tough spot in Denver, but it is a transitional healing that may actually help both parties heal some old wounds.
Yoho: Wright is an average CB who's lucky to be a CB right now. He'll get a raise with his new team, and there will be plenty of teams looking for nickel backs or stop-gap starters. One such team might be the Lions.

http://www.pigskinheaven.com/gallery/files/7/CosmicGelDl6.gif
Crunked: Part two of the biggest trade of all times (note the build up the self -hype continues to grow). This is part two, what the Raiders get in exchange for Porter. Yeah Porter for Carr and some conditional draft picks, that part though is the minutia of the whole ball of wax.
Yoho: Carr can be had at a bargain and his forte is being deadly accurate on all of his throws, but only throwing the ball 4-6 yards down field. This should appeal to a coach and a team that likes to use the passing game as an extension of the running game, as Jon Gruden used to enjoy in Oakland. A mid-round pick adds Carr to the clusterfudge at QB for the Bucs

What about Patrick Kearny?

Man, we pick the destinations of 30 or so players, and the first comment we get is "what about Bob?" (ok, Patrick, but that movie's so good)

Patrick Kerney signs with USC, as they get tired of NCAA violations and decide to turn pro.

I agree with your Kerney placement LOL, btw with the news that Rhodes cant drink and drive....will affect him to some degree, any thoughts on what it will do to him, personally I think it may knock him from a 2 mil a year offer down to a 1 and change offer by someone, and it may strangely help the Colts be able to afford to keep him if they so choose, thoughts?

My thoughts on Rhodes are that we get to see if the Bengals are for real about the clean up process.

true enough as they were rumored to be a suitor for him, it will be interesting indeed.

So Dallas doesn't sign anyone? Don't think Jerry will let that happen.

a, funny it worked out that way, yeah, but as for the big names... I could see them maybe getting one of the linemen, but there aren't any free agents free safeties that are altogether appealing. At WR they only have a need if they want to get younger, and free agency isn't the best place for that. They might sign a low-level OT or something, but no one form our above list really seems like a great Cowboy fit right now except maybe Leonard Davis.

Awesome post guys. I see you guys think the Titans might make a run at Nate Clements, Michael Lewis, Jerry Porter and Ashley Lelie. I have no complaints seeing as all are definite possibilities and with the money the Titans have it should be interesting to see what they do with it.

wow!!!

all that styuff ws great guys....

I had the curtis thing under my hat for about 2 weeks now, and havent said a word, it would be great to see him in philly. but as always it will be a money issue and I would rather have him than stallworth.

as for a powerback in philly, yeah i want it...I have for years now, but i dont see it happening yet again.

Rhodes is too expensive for the Bengals on offense anyways...we need to sign our own and maybe some depth on D..

Remember Dallas could also get a guy as part of a trade, so even if they don't sign any FA's they still might make a splash.

good thoughts...id like to see sauerbrun in washington....maybe an actaul kicker or some one to fight with suisham for the spot though suisham should be good. im guessing you dont believe any one stays in their own team?

We chose to look at the free agents listed as if they would not come back to their squad, We made a good case in some instances that return was possible, but we wanted to speculate "IF" they did not return where would they most likely go, so we are not saying some won't we are just saying "pretend" no one will, here is where they may end up.

Gee, $24 million in cap room, and we were one paragraph away from getting shut out. :cry3:

That being said, I think Plummer makes a better fit to Gruden then Carr does, but I don't believe the Bucs will make any drastic QB moves, Simms back and healthy behind a young but now experienced o-line should be all the quarterbacking we need.

Now Cato June would be a good choice to learn and take over for #55, but that's probably another couple years away.

Look for the Bucs to make a play at safety though.

I actually thought about June for the Bucs, but it was too soon; what would they do until brooks leaves? what message would that send? Would June be willing to enter that situation...

for safeties we only had 2 and a lot of teams need them, but it's a good thing to keep in mind.

As for Plummer/Carr... Plummer can only go one place, and since that was taken, I went with Carr. But Plummer is NOTHING like Gannon, who had the most success under Gruden, so I don't really see the ideal fit as much, anyway. And if Carr can be had for a 4th (which is a rumor), there's nothing wrong with spending a 3rd, 4th and 6th round pick on your QB situation and then they have plenty of options.

Exactly my thoughts. Was fun entertaining it though. :D

I still think a trade down for Nelson is the best choice, not that I wouldn't mind Calvin.

While it's certainly a bargain, and I really like Carr, I'm pretty sure someone will outspend the Bucs for his services.

I have no hard fact behind what I am about to say, but I will say it anyway.
The Bucs are in a screwy situation, Gruden is on the hot seat and he basically shed some cap guys (thanks for booger btw) to get room, but room for what? well to buy some guys in free agency? seems like that would be getting rid of pieces of the puzzle you know for pieces you dont. Being on the hot seat, drafting well won't help him this year (assuming he is on the hot seat) he almost certainly wants to spend it on free agents but who or what would immediately improve the squad?

GARCIA TO RAIDERS?

Although the teams most commonly linked to soon-to-be-free-agent quarterback Jeff Garcia are the Broncos and the Bucs, an industry source has suggested keeping a close eye on the Oakland Raiders.

Garcia grew up in the Bay Area, and played at San Jose State. He also had a tryout with the Raiders before he signed with the 49ers.

Well, I've done some tallying. We looked at 32 players who were either free agents or trade bait. 12 of those guys either stayed put or have yet to be signed. 15 of those guys went to teams that neither Crunked or I predicted them to go to, leaving 5 correct answers:

Nate Clements: 49ers
CRUNKED- 1
YOHO- 0

Adalius Thomas: Patriots
CRUNKED-1
YOHO-1

Michael Lewis: 49ers
CRUNKED-1
YOHO-2

Kevin Curtis: Philadelphia
CRUNKED-2
YOHO-2

Eric Steinbach: Browns
CRUNKED-2
YOHO-3

...and also, I think I should get major props for guessing Garcia to the Raiders long before it was being discussed by anyone in the media, even though he ultimately bailed on them last-minute.

A well-fought guessing game, Crunked. Looks like combining our best answers, we got almost 15% accuracy. WooHoo

15% brother is as good as any of the so called experts could have hoped, not to mention not having a nightly show we were stuck with a moment in time prediction, I am sure if we could ammend daily like some 4 letter network affiliates we could have greatly increased our percentage, all in all fun and great job yoho!
