PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Free Agents (thanks to ron—mexico)
Ron—mexico comments:
Officially our potential free agent losses arent huge, but there are a few names of note......
RT- Jon Runyon
Runyan is 32 and is finishing his sixth season with the Eagles. His signing in 2000 was the first step toward rebuilding a team that went 5-11 in 1999, Andy Reid's first season (the last time we have had a losing season!). Runyan isn't as dominant as he was a few years ago, but he started his 144th successive game last week against the Redskins. It isn't clear that the Eagles can do better, either, among their reserves or on the free-agent market.
He has roots in the area now and a family to think about. All things being equal, he would prefer to return, but since he hasn't been signed, and he knows very well how the Eagles do things, he also seems ready to leave if he must. That choice is not his, i think andy will keep him because he is a former OL and he is loyal to those boys, the thing is, he isnt worth that money, but he will not want to take a pay cut, and history also shows us (trotter, hugh douglas) that we will let him go if he wants. i saw franchise him, let the young guys, and next years rookie(s) work with him.[/COLOR]
DE- N.D. Kalu
Kalu, 30, was drafted by the Birds in 1997 but cut a year later and played 3 years for the Redskins before returning as a free agent in 2001. He was scheduled to back up 2003 first-round pick Jerome McDougle this season, but when McDougle was the victim of a shooting just before training camp, Kalu stepped back into the starting role he'd held before missing the 2004 season with a torn ACL. Kalu, who is now backing up rookie Trent Cole, has been critical of his own performance and does not expect to return, though he has said he feels he will be a much better player next season, when his knee is fully recovered. I CALL BS.....i think he is not worth keeping around but see a SLIGHT chance of it happening. i see him headed to oakland to play with his good friend derrick burgess (i really do)
WSLB- Keith Adams-
Adams, 26, picked up on waivers from the Cowboys in 2002, was a special-teams standout who worked his way into a starting job with a strong performance in last season's playoffs. Like the rest of the defense, he has been less impressive this season, though he said he feels he is learning and improving every week. i do too......he was recently quoted as saying.......
"I love it here in Philadelphia, it's where my heart is,I love the fans, I love my teammates, I love the whole organization... I'll just leave it up to God. Whatever he has for me, that's what I'll do" i dont think god or anyone thinks that the guy is a fantastic LB, but for a first time starter, he did well, i think he stays, i believe that simmeneau is gone, and we will draft an OLB and do some shifting of personell.
other than those, the rest of the list of restricted free agents is headlined by Rod Hood, who normally is the nickel corner but is starting now in place of the injured Lito Sheppard. Punter Dirk Johnson, safety Quintin Mikell and running back/punt returner Reno Mahe also fit under that category. They are unlikely to leave unless the Eagles don't want them back, since the Eagles can match other teams' offers and retain them. although for the record, the only one i hope they fight to hold onto would be Hood.
Possible free-agent pick-ups ?
Well, the rumor mill has been going full steam for philly on this front....who will take over for T.O. (hopefully nobody) but the word is that we will not be going after a WR in the first 2 rounds of the draft (collective sigh from philly here) they want a veteran, and the hot name is Reggie Wayne he is an URFA after the season, and will highly pursued. can he be a #1?? i think he can for a WHILE. and Mcnabb likes tospread the ball around, contrary what the "haters" will say, Wayne would prosper here in philly, and the younger players such as reggie brown and greg lewis will learn alot from Wayne and a returning Todd Pinkston.
Other than that, they are on the look out for that LB that will make an impact like trotter did in his return to philly, but as stated before, it looks as though they will look for that more in the draft. another DE would be helpful, because of the questions around the (SHOT!) jerome mcdougale, and the probable departure of N.D. Kalu. the other rumors are about the "powerback" situation, and it is a hard one to tackle...(HA! PUNS!!) Reid is traditionally more of a passing coach he was even quoted as saying this year, "if i didnt have to run at all, i wouldnt" well guess what andy ......you DO!!!. the peopel who dont buy into this are the ones that look at the money that we gave to westbrook...and say he is our RB future. anyone that looks can see that we have to get runs up the middle, and as great as brian is, he never will be a jerome bettis, so the power back question is still alive in philly, will they? wont they? i say.....cut buckhalter......a waste of money......develop moats....he is a travis henry type of back, young but has skills...or a the kids say mad skillz......last year in the offseason when it looked as though shaun alexander was going to be leaving seattle, his agent was spotted several times near the nova care complex, he represents NO players on the eagles. so that, might be a possibility. they will have huge amounts of caps space...as it stands between 20-22 million, and if the league expands that like they are playing around with...it COULD be 30-32 million........speed back, powerback or three headed monster, how do u pass up on a talent like alexander, and edrigen james for that matter? who knows
Aging Players (34 or older next season)
Sean Landeta, Chad Lewis
Potential First Round Pick
Much of what I am seeing is pointing towards Santonio Holmes, WR.
Ron—mexico comment: RUMORS are that andy is all hot and bothered over AJ Hawk, i am too....but at pick #14, i dont see how we can get them, unless we trade up, and i dont see that happening unless Hawk slips to #7 or 8then we could go after him like crazy....what we will address...OLB, DE, WR, in that order.
Salary Cap Situation
Philadelphia Eagles have $7 Million in cap room. Once each team's cap is properly adjusted to account for likely to be earned bonus money that was accounted for against the 2005 cap -- but never actually awarded to the player(s) -- you can fully expect the Eagles to have a great deal more cap room.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Free Agents
Ade Jimoh CB RFA
Brian Kozlowski TE UFA
Cedric Killings DT RFA
Demetric Evans DE UFA
Ethan Albright LS UFA
Khary Campbell LB UFA
Omar Stoutmire S UFA
Ray Brown OG UFA
Robert Royal TE UFA
Rock Cartwright RB UFA
Ryan Clark S UFA
Warrick Holdman LB UFA
Aging Players (34 or older next season)
Ethan Albright, Ray Brown, Mark Brunell, Brian Kozlowski, Tom Tupa
Potential First Round Pick
None
Salary Cap Situation
Washington Redskins are $20 M over the cap. As usual the Redskins look to be one of the primary offenders heading into the new year. The team's tendency to rework contracts over and over again has made them a poster child for the "mortgage the future for today" mantra. A good case in point is Lavar Arrington, whose base salary in 2006 jumps from $545 K to $2 M.

David Tyree WR RFA
Frank Walker CB RFA
Kenderick Allen DT RFA
Kendrick Clancy DT UFA
Nick Greisen LB UFA
Sean Berton TE RFA

Visanthe Shiancoe TE RFA
Will Allen CB UFA
Willie Ponder WR RFA
Aging Players (34 or older next season)
Brent Alexander, Terrell Buckley, Jeff Feagles, Ryan Kuehl, Roman Phifer, Michael Strahan, Bob Whitfield
Potential First Round Selection
I don’t think anyone has a good feel of where the Giants are going to go with their pick. It will probably just depend on ‘who’ is there.
Salary Cap Situation
NY Giants have $3 M of space. The Giants should have plenty of options when it comes to freeing up some cap space. For example, with so many big time skill position players, guess which player will have the highest base salary in 2006. Eli? Not even close. What about Tiki? Nope. Mike Strahan you ask? Wrong answer! Believe it or not, the NY Giant with the highest base salary heading into 2006 is Luke Petitgout.

DALLAS COWBOYS
Free Agents
Dan Campbell TE UFA
Eric Ogbogu LB UFA
Ethan Brooks OT UFA
Keith Davis S RFA
Lynn Scott S UFA
Peerless Price WR UFA
Scott Fujita LB UFA
Scott Shanle LB RFA
Torrin Tucker OT RFA
Willie Blade DT UFA
Willie Pile S RFA
Aging Players (34 or older next season)
Larry Allen, Mike Barrow, Drew Bledsoe, Aaron Glenn, Keyshawn Johnson, Marcus Price, Marco Rivera
Potential First Round Selection
All signs seem to point towards new left tackle Jon Scott
Salary Cap Situation
Dallas Cowboys have $2 M in spare cap room. The Cowboys learned the hard way how a once-proud championship team can crumble overnight due to the restrictions of the salary cap. They appear to be heading into 2006 in pretty good shape.
