Afternoon all. My name is Tom. I know I recognize one of the mods on here, Youngstown Colt, from a site I am a SuperModerator at. It won't surprise me to find other posters I recognize as well. If you've seen this username anywhere else, it was me. I use it everywhere I sign up.

Anyway, onto football. My favorite team is the Washington Redskins. I'm 17, and been a fan since I was three. My great uncle, Joe Tereshinski, played and coached with the Skins in the 1940's and 50's. Before that, he won what was the equivalent of the National Championship back in the early 40's. I'm a huge fan, and sometimes border on a homer, but I'm also a realist for them. Case in point- I give us a 17-16 victory today over the Broncos. I also wanted LaVar Arrington gone long before this year. As time goes on, you'll see I have a jones about Arrington.

My second team in the NFL will be the Chiefs. Probably because of the former Redskins on the team, Trent Green and Shawn Barber, and also because I was a Ravens fan before they got rid of Preist Holmes. Its a team I enjoy following.

For college, my #1 team is Georgia. It goes back to my great uncle, as well as more of his family. His two sons, Joe and Wally, played there in the 70's. Now, one of them is the Strength and Conditioning coach for UGA football, and is the video coordinator at the school. His oldest son, Joe, is backup QB for DJ Shockley. His youngest son, John, is a TE for Wake Forest. Needless to say, my 2nd team is Wake, followed by the Naval Academy, as they are the closest team to me, and we used to have season tickets.

I'm steeped in football history. Alas, I don't play. Rather, I chose the golf team instead. Still, football is something I follow in-depth, and have a lot of knowledge on. My grandfather was the head coach 30 years ago at the high school I go to, and my dad is an assistant at his high school. So I'm always looking to talk shop about teams, players, strategies, what have you. Take it easy guys.

Wow that's a lot of football history in one family. I kinda follow your boat in that you chose golf team over football. This is my last year playing football for the school. Watching and talking football is a lot more satisfying for me than playing it (been playing sense 3rd grade and I'm in 10th now). Hope to see you active around here.

Welcome to the site. My mother in law has season tickets to the Navy games too. Her husband (I never met him) was the commandant at the Naval Academy. I look forward to talking football with you later down the road, and don't forget to look into becoming a PM or VIP Member.

Welcome to the site man. It's great to see another Redskin fan here! We are looking pretty good early in the season, but it's a very looooong season and anything can happen.
