Hello sports fans, Crunked here. I asked the mods to put together a list of thoughts on what to watch this year. I hate to see the lame so called "break out" reports done by SI an others. It is rarely on target and I like to think we have more football knowledge in our little pinky then some of the so called experts so without further ado, I give you our moderators...oh yeah, almost forgot, the moderators were given a deadline to have these done by and if they failed to meet that deadline I got to write their review for them, be sure to let them know what you felt about their what to watch for's especially :)

Rookie in the AFC East...
NE Patriots....Logan Mankins (G)
Most thought NE was whacked going for an offensive linemen with their first pick..especially after losing players like Ty Law (CB) and Tedy Bruschi (MLB)...One would have thought that the defense would be the primary area to be addressed, but Belichick knows his team better than anyone...The loss of G Joe Andruzzi on the offensive line was HUGE and could make for some scary moments with their QB Tom Brady. Much of Brady's successes are because of the solid O-line and losing their QB would be a disaster for the Patriots.

First round pick Logan Mankins (G)..
He has the size that NE needed on the O-line and seems to have the desire and determination to excel at his position. He has stepped up into the role very well and I see him being just as solid as Andruzzi was only with a bit more stamina and strength. He may not have the wisdom that comes from experience but he seems to learn quickly...
Mankins does bring youth to the O-line and thats always a plus to solidify the QB's best friend when on the field...

With defenses gunning for Brady and the Patriots this season, Mankins could be the one player that is the most important to help keep Brady protected at all times..

Tyson Thompson <O:p</O:p

If there was one player I would recommend keeping an eye on, it would have to be Tyson Thompson of the Dallas Cowboys. He is a 6’1 220 pound rookie RB out of San Jose State. Growing up in Irving, Texas he always dreamed of putting the star on and playing for the Dallas Cowboys. He will not only get a chance to live his dream, he will also have the chance to be the first Irving born player to ever play a regular season game. Coming into training camp, he was considered a long shot to make the 53 man roster, but he continued to make plays in practice and then after his performance in the first pre-season game, he made it hard for Dallas to get rid of him. Look out for him, because he is going to turn a lot of heads with his speed and ability to make plays. Look out for him so you can have the chance to witness history.<O:p</O:p

Look for Reggie Wayne to out perform Marvin harrison this year and supplant Marv as the Colts number one reciever. I also agree with Texans84 assesment of the Colts hard hitting fast defense, I highly recommend you pick up their D for your fantasy league...(BRV) by virtue of not turning in a what to look for approved and endorsed curnked interpretation of his thoughts.

Minnesota Vikings:

With a new ownership group putting a high premium on winning, Head Coach Mike Tice is definitely on the hot seat. His team has talent on both sides of the ball, and is the early favorite to take the division. If this team is slow out the gates, talks of firing Tice could definitely be a reality. Tice has had opportunities to be successful and has yet to achieve a winning season. Tice will also have more control over the play calling this year, so excuses will not be available if he does not succeed.<O:p</O:p

-J.P. Losman struggles and the Bills take a step back from last season

-The Patriots will again be the team to knock off in late December

-Baltimore's elite defense struggles with injuries and Kyle Boller continues to play like a rookie.

-Bengals put everything together, winning the division and moving deep into the playoffs.

-The AFC South makes its' stand as the best conference in the AFC, perhaps the NFL, as they have no teams finish with less than 7 wins.

-The NFC North is the most talked about conference in the NFL as the Packers win the division, followed by...Detroit. The Vikings deal with injuries and horrible coaching as they finish 3rd.

-NFC South becomes best conference in the NFC as they send two teams to the playoffs and another team finishes .500.

-The NFC West remains the worst conference in the NFC as the 49ers continue to play horrible, the Cardinals play like a team one more year away, and the Rams and Seahawks have average seasons.<O:p</O:p

You can expect the Bengals to possibly be a playoff team for the first time since 1990. The offense looks to be dangerous on paper, but Palmer and company must translate that on the field. Chad Johnson will be Palmer's #1 guy, but if he is double-teamed as he was a lot last year, then look for Palmer to hook up with Houshmandzadeh, Warrick, or Chris Henry a lot. Rudi Johnson was re-signed to a 5 year deal this off season, so you can expect a solid running game with Rudi, Chris Perry(returning from hernia injury, will be receiving back), and either Kenny Watson(solid special teams player)/or Quincy Wilson who is being called a Rudi clone.

The defense is still a big question mark. Marvin is in his 3rd year of coaching and may have finally developed the defense that he started in his 1st season. He had a great draft by adding David Pollack and Odell Thurman who of which will be key pieces of the defense this season. A few players that Marvin drafted last year are 1-year older and are ready to breakout)Madieu Williams, Landon Johnson, Robery Geathers to name a few). Basically, if the Bengals' defense clicks, then this will be an extremely dangerous football team.

What to look for: Pittsburgh Steelers

Look for the creators of the ROETHLISBURGER to add another item to the deal. Maybe a MILLER genuine draft beer? Or extra HEINZ on the burger?

Keep watching TROY POLAMALU'S hair grow, the longer and longer it gets the more he looks like the Tazmanian Devil as he spins around.

If you get a chance, look for some Speedy Bandit running out of the backfield with the ball. Then again, WILLIE PARKER is so fast you might not be able to see him.

On a serious note, with the developing of people like James Harrison atthe LB position, look for the Steelers to feel more comfortable carrying lesser Linebackers to carry more of their speedy corners, potential filled wide receivers, and different styled running backs.
I'd makeone for the ravens, but i'd be too harsh on Kyle Boller and Ray Lewis :)

Many people are not aware of this, but I think the thing to watch for is the amazing talent on the Colts defense. I mean these guys look to be monsters this year. Sure they didn't sign any big name Free agents, or draft particularly well according to the so called experts, but what do they know anyway (Texans84) by virtue of not turning in a what to look for has approved and endorsed crunked interpretation of his thoughts.

Ty Law - will he be back to his old self, or will the injury slow him down and turn him into a mediocre corner instead of the great Ty Law he once was.

Kurt Warner - how long can he stay as the Cardinals starter. Can he return to his MVP play or is he doomed to be benched around the sixth week of the season for Josh Mccown like he was for Eli Manning.

AFC East - is this the year a team finally over takes the patriots as the champion of the AFC east or will the patriots continue their dominance despite some major losses.

Mcnabb/TO - will they co-exist and put their problems behind them or will it eventually blow up and get TO run out of town. If so, how does this affect the performance of the eagles.

"What to look for this season"

Look for a Wild Wild West. The AFC West is going to be a dog fight to the bitter end. Their is no clear cut favorite in this division. All 4 teams have some tough challenges ahead of them facing BOTH SB teams from last season. We have some of the top players in all of football in the division (Moss, Gonzo, Gates, Holmes, LT, C-Wood, Bailey, Al Wilson etc)...One thing for sure, its going to make for some exciting football games. -RZ

OK, not sure if that is what you wanted. Back to programming now.

I think I'd rather watch Polamalu's hair grow rather than wait for the Colt's D to be anything great this year. Granted, they are quick but I don't see them being a force to reckon with against the beefy boys on these O Lines. So Wolverine, you're saying the Steeler's have a Tazmanian Devil and now a "Richochet Rabbit" or is it "Speedy Gonzales"? Colt's defense in my fantasy league, why that's DETH PICABLE. Exit stage left.........:D

I would like to call him Roadrunner. While I'd love to sit here and give the Steelers nicknames of cartoon people, I think Faaast Willie would do lol.
