In a quarterback class where seemingly everyone faltered or did not quite meet the expectations laid out for them, fairly or unfairly, West Virginia’s Geno Smith was the one guy who experienced huge growth from his junior to senior year vaulting himself from a likely second-round player coming into the year into a first-round quarterback, the best quarterback prospect in the draft, and possibly the #1 overall pick.
