Just some random thoughts as we count down the minutes to kickoff in week one of the NFL season.
-AdrianPeterson looks primed to make roughly 90 percent of the fantasy football GM's regret passing on him in the first round of their respective drafts, and make 10 percent of the fantasy universe feel like the smartest man in the room.
-Just saw Packer linebacker AJ Hawk in a commercial, if there is ever a hollywood movie based on his life, Dolph Lungren of Ivan Drago fame in Rocky IV will hear his phone 'a ringin'
-Of the 5 rookie starting quarterbacks starting today, it appears the lowest draft pick Russell Wilson has the best chance of being a winner in his NFL debut playing at Arizona.
-Looking at fantasy football projections, what does it say about the Jets woeful offense that backup quarterback Tim Tebow is actually projected to put up more fantasy points then starter Mark Sanchez?
-Has Carolina running back Jonathan Stewart ever entered an NFL season healthy? According to his facebook account (Good Lord!!) he will not be playing today and DeAngelo Williams will get the start.
-Two seasons ago the story in Cincinnati was the TO/Ochocinco Reality show that was starting at wide receiver, fast forward two years and neither has an NFL home and the Bengals have perhaps the best young receiver/quarterback combo in the game in AJ Green and Andy Dalton and are expected to contend for the AFC North crown, and the quarterback who's life they made miserable demanded a new home and has a new lease on life starting for the silver and black. Their is a lesson in Karma here somewhere.
-Ron Jaworski just used the names Ryan Tannehill and Dan Marino in the same sentence. My not so bold prediction is that will be the last time that ever happens without the words "IS NO" in the middle of them.
- Funny how things work out in terms of the schedule, Adrian Peterson and Maurice Jones Drew, the two fantasy football mysteries are playing against one another in week one, how much will it shake up the fantasy football world if they both put up 100 plus yards? Not at all impossible.
- San Francisco plays in Green Bay today in each teams first game of the season, look for one of these two teams to play their last game of the season against the same team exactly 126 days from now as I see this as a preview of the NFC title game scheduled for January 20th.
