Jagman's Journal
by jagman28782, PSH mod and new columnist
My First Journal!
Surprise, surprise. I decided to throw everyone a curve and put out my first article on a Monday rather than a Friday. Don't worry, the Journal will also be on Friday this week, I just want to give everyone a sneek peek of what to expect.
An early peek at the draft
Most people are talking about Rodgers and Smith, who'll go number one, blah, blah, blah! I'm sick of hearing about it. I'm going to talk about who I think will make waves later in the draft.
Adrian McPherson, QB, formerly of Florida State(you could also say Indiana Firebirds)- This kid has "diamond in the rough" written all over him. Gambling problems brought him down at FSU, but he really showed what he can do in the AFL. He exceled at the AFL level and hopes to make the same impact in the NFL.
My prediction: He will go to either Green Bay or Denver and step in as the starting QB within the next 2-3 years.
Chris Canty, DE, Virginia- If Canty never had injury problems, you'd hear his name early in the first round. At 6'7'', 290 lbs, he will be an absolute beast on the D-Line. He never got the chance to show his true ability in the Cavs 3-4 set. If he does end up in the right set, he will be a Pro Bowler.
My prediction: Canty goes in the late second round, early third to either Jacksonville, Indy, or Arizona.
Ray Hudson, RB, Alabama- I know what your saying, jagman is showing his homerism. The answer is yes I am, but Hudson does have upside. Like Canty, Hudson's senior season was ended prematurely with a knee injury. This was Hudson's first year starting for the Crimson Tide and was having a solid year until his injury in the Kentucky game. Hudson does have durability issues, but so did former Alabama RB Shaud Williams. Shaud was undrafted and went to Buffalo. Backing up McGahee, he ended up rushing for 167 yards, second best for AFC rookie RBs. Not bad for someone who was inactive for 12 weeks and is a backup. Hudson is bigger and will have success.
My Prediction: Hudson will go in the late 7th round or won't be selected at all. Hudson will be a solid backup and will impress in a limited role.
My non-football thought of the week(until Friday)
The Cleveland Cavaliers, what can I say? I told everybody months ago they'd choke and nobody would listen. I said they couldn't hold up down the stretch and a collapse was eminent, everyone turned a deaf ear. I got one thing to say now, I told you so! Look at it this way Cavs fans, there's a microscopic chance that yall can draft Andrew Bogut, it's better than zero chance.
Coming on Friday
-My Jacksonville Mock Draft
-I analyze more sleeper picks
-I go on my first rant
-My non-football rant will involve the high school prom
I hope everyone has enjoyed my first journal entry, there are more coming.
